Formed on board HMS Queen Elizabeth in 2021, Cordite is currently comprised of serving members of the Royal Navy. Through a combination of Covid restrictions and a long 7 months at sea, their gigging journey started in a somewhat unconventional fashion. From the flight deck of an aircraft carrier in Japan; to an undisclosed location in the Indian Ocean; to the jetty of a container-port in Oman, the usual pubs and clubs were notably absent from their résumé. 

This changed in 2022 when Cordite came ashore and re-focused their attentions on the bars, pubs and clubs in the Portsmouth area. Gigging frequently along the south coast, the band has established itself in numerous local venues and receives regular bookings for private functions.

Focusing on upbeat music, Cordite plays songs of all genres from any decade; from the Sugababes and Phil Collins to Pearl Jam and Motorhead, their only intention is for everyone to enjoy the music and have fun. Keep dancing.
